Bio: Lewis Joseph Lang, 91, of Lang Farm Road, Marietta, died at 11:07 p.m. Saturday (October 29, 2005) at Marietta Memorial Hospital. He was born Feb. 2, 1914, in Lowell, to John L. and Mary Huck Lang. He had worked for the Farm Bureau for eight years, as a tank truck driver, was a Warren Township trustee for 20 years, had worked at Marietta Metals, and retired from ODOT as a superintendent of Washington County highways. Lewis had operated a dairy farm with his wife his entire life and he did custom farm work, until retirement. He was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, Beverly, the Holy Name Society, past member of the Washington County Republican Central Committee, member of the BPO Elks and Loyal Order of Moose in Marietta and the Beverly Eagles. He enjoyed music, especially playing his guitar at many special occasions. He is survived by eight children, Betty May (Fred) Becker of Churchtown, Lewis R. (Patty) Lang of Churchtown, Romona Barrett of Vincent, Donna (Ralph) Sturm of Marietta, Bonnie (John) Seyler of Wilmington, N.C., Gale (Sandra) Lang of Churchtown, Darlene (Bill) Seyler of Poland, Ohio, and Faye Louise (Dale) Treadway of Churchtown; 26 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; two brothers, Francis R. Lang of Cincinnati and Leo (Nadine) Lang of Lowell; and a special friend, Nina Turner of Marietta. He was preceded in death by his wife, Audrey Arnold Lang, on Jan. 22, 1988; they had been married on June 30, 1938. He was also preceded by a son-in-law, James M. Barrett; a sister, Mildred Arnold; two brothers, John N. and Carl Lang; and a great-granddaughter, Faith Elizabeth Becker. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church with the Rev. Fred Kihm as celebrant. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call at the Marietta Chapel of Cawley & Peoples Funeral Home both today and Tuesday from 1 to 8 p.m. The rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. today and there will be a vigil service at 7 p.m. on Tuesday.
