Bio: David Alan Imberi, a native of Mobridge, died at a Rapid City nursing home on Monday, Jan. 15, 2007, at the age of 47.He was born Sept. 16, 1959, one of seven children born to Alex and Jean (Voegele) Imberi. At the age of 4, David was diagnosed with Wilms' tumor. He sailed through surgery to remove one kidney and the treatments that followed. David lived in Mobridge until moving to Rapid City with his family in 1974. He was diagnosed with cancer again in March of 2004 at the age of 45. Through sheer will and determination and the grace of God, David enjoyed life for another two years. He enjoyed spending time with his children and visiting family and friends in Mobridge and Colorado. His family was so appreciative of those who helped David during his illness and made time for him, especially the past two years.Survivors are his daughter Magen and son Richard, both of Rapid City; his father and stepmother, Alex Imberi and Lynda Jacquot-Imberi; four sisters, Deborah (Jerry) Long of Denver, Colo., Brenda (Clint) Imberi-Dattel of Arvada, Colo., Sandra Ioakimi, of Kehei, Maui, Hawaii, and Laura (Bob) Oyler of Denver; two brothers, Michael Imberi of Gillette, Wyo., and John Imberi of Hot Springs; five stepbrothers and four stepsisters. David is also the nephew of Bill Imberi, Sis Hepper and Kathy Knudson, all of Mobridge and Beverly Kramer of McLaughlin. JoAnn Houck and Linda Voegele, both of Akaska, were his mother's sisters.His mother, Jean, preceded David in death on Sept. 17, 1983.A Christian wake service was held Friday, Jan. 19, at the Osheim-Catron Funeral Home in Rapid City. Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Saturday, Jan. 20, at Blessed Sacrament Church in Rapid City with the Rev. Andrzej Wyrostek as celebrant.Burial was Monday afternoon at Mount Calvary Cemetery in Rapid City.
