Anita J. Kunda, age 73, of Glendive, passed away on Saturday, May 12, 2007 at the Glendive Medical Center.
A Vigil Service will be held at 7:00 P.M., Friday, May 18, 2007 at the Chapel of the Silvernale-Silha Funeral Home in Glendive. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, May 19, 2007 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Glendive with Father Joseph Ponessa officiating. Rite of Committal will be in the Dawson County Cemetery in Glendive. Silvernale-Silha Funeral Home of Glendive is entrusted with arrangements.
Anita was born on January 2, 1934 in Richardton, North Dakota, the daughter of Nick J. and Johanna (Schantz) Forster. She was raised and educated in Richardton and graduated from St. Mary's High School with the class of 1952. She then attended Dickinson State University where she received her teacher's certificate. Anita taught in rural schools near Richardton for three years. She married Lawrence Kunda on January 19, 1955 at the Abbey in Richardton. They were later divorced. Anita moved to Glendive in 1955 and was employed by Montana Dakota Utilities in the accounting department. In 1982 she retired after 16 years of service.
Anita was a member of the Catholic Daughters since 1955. She was also a member of the Women of the Moose, Glendive Medical Center Hospital Auxiliary, V.F.W. Auxiliary and the Frontier Gateway Museum. She participated in the rosary at the Eastern Montana Veterans Home and the Glendive Medical Center Extended Care. Anita enjoyed attending her grandchildren's sporting events.
Anita was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, infant Dennis, Glen Forster and James Forster; three brothers-in-law, Robert Gress, Robert Hunke and Randy Cole.
Survivors include her children, Eugene Kunda and his wife Norma of Wheaton, Illinois, Pamela Boner and her husband Jerrell of Glendive and Joyce Pulse of Aurora, Colorado; six sisters, Rose Hueske and her husband Arnold of Richardton, North Dakota, Lucille Begger and her husband Al of Wibaux, Germaine Cole of Spokane, Washington, Rita Gress of Ennis, Montana and Joan Zimmerman and her husband Roger of Taylor, North Dakota, Lillian Hunke of Bismarck, North Dakota; her brother, Charles Forster and his wife Jeanette of Richardton, North Dakota; grandchildren, Nick Boner and his wife Mandy, Janelle Boner, Jennifer Brooks, Laura and Andrew Kunda; great grandchildren, Logan Boner, Brooke Green and Lexi Brooks.
