Birth: Jan. 13, 1854 Yorkville Dearborn County Indiana, USA Death: Mar. 24, 1928 Shelby County Indiana, USA Son of Leonard Miller & Gertrude Catherine Neurohr Following an illness of several months duration caused from a complication of diseases, Joseph Miller, well known resident of Shelby county, died at his home near Prescott at 10:30 o'clock Saturday night. Funeral services will be conducted at the St. Vincent church at 9 o'clock Tuesday morning, the Rev. Joseph Duffy, pastor of the church officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery in charge of Charles M. Ewing, funeral director. Mr. Miller was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Miller and was born in Dearborn county on January 13, 1854 and at the time of death was seventy-four years old. On February 19, 1879, he was united in marriage to Miss Kathryn Nordmeyer and to this union five daughters and four sons were born. The family circle of the Miller family had never been broken until the death of Mr. Miller. He was a devoted member of the St. Vincent church and was one of the best known citizens in the Prescott neighborhod. Mr. Miller's surviving relatives are the widow, Mrs. Kathryn Miller; the daughters, Mrs. Walter Boehle, of Cincinnati; Mrs. Edward Siefert and Mrs. Edward Runnebohm, of this city; Mrs. Arthur Boehle and Mrs. Noble Aubrey, of Indianapolis and the sons are Joseph H. Miller, of this city; Lawrence W. and Theodore Miller, of Prescott and Martin L. Miller, of Indianapolis. He is also survived by twenty-six grandchildren; two brothers, Lawrence Miller, of this county; A. G. Miller of Cedar Rapids, La., and three sisters, Mrs. Fred Neddendorf, Mrs. Kathryn Kolb and Miss Minnie Miller, of Cincinnati.
