Mass of Christian Burial for Joseph Kary, 96, Dickinson will be 10 a.m. on Thursday, February 22, 2007, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Dickinson with Fr. Dennis Schafer, celebrating. Interment will be in the St. Joseph’s Cemetery. Dickinson. Visitation will be at Stevenson Funeral Home on Wednesday from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. and at St. Benedict’s Health Center from 2:15 to 2:45 and continuing at the funeral home at 3 p.m. A rosary and vigil will be held at Stevenson Funeral Home at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Joseph passed away Sunday, February 18, 2007 at St. Benedict’s Health Center, Dickinson Joseph was born June 22, 1910, in Dickinson to Harry and Rose (Ehrmantraut) Kary. He attended county school until 1924 then attended Dickinson Normal School until 1926. He helped on the family farm until his marriage to Katherine (Wock) Kary on October 3, 1933 at St. Joseph’s Church in Dickinson. The newly weds left shortly after the wedding for California and worked in the apple industry until they returned to Dickinson in 1935. Joseph worked for Nash Finch Grocery from 1935 to 1943 than worked in the Ford Motor business until he retired in 1975. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Club, Elk’s, St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Dickinson and one of the founding partners in Parkway Ford in Dickinson. Joseph is survived by: two sons, Don Kary, Los Angles, CA and Dennis Kary, Bacliff TX; two daughters, Sylvia Medley, Crosby TX and Jeanette Tostenson, Albuquerque NM; four grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and one great great grandchild; one sister, Evelyn Rolshoven. He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, three brothers and one sister.
