Born June 2, 1933, in Auburn, he was the son of the late Earl DeWitt and Beulah McClellan DeWitt. He married Mary Lou Shoudel on Aug. 33, 1957 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Garrett. He received his certificate in welding from Ivy Tech Community College and was a Welder at International Harvester for 30 years. He served in the US Army from 1952 to 1956. He was a member of the American Legion Post 178 in Garrett, and a long time member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Garrett. His body has been donated to the Indiana University Anatomical Education Program. Memorials can be sent to St. Martin's Clothing Closet or St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Garrett, Ind.
