Renee was preceded in death by her father, Charles Burkenbush Badger, Jr.; and her grandparents, Charles Burkenbush Senior and Estelle Reams Badger. She is survived by her loving husband of 23 years, David Layman; and sons, Brandon E. and Jared Ray Layman, both of whom she was very proud. She is also survived by her mother, Donna Badger, who she was very close to and loved dearly. Renee was a member of Cross Lanes Baptist Church and was very involved at the local high school as a Nitro High School mom and volunteered her time with the band boosters. She loved flowers, horses, her little dog Beau and recently fell in love with the city of New York after visiting it with her family. Renee was an excellent mother, wife and daughter and was a very kind and loving friend. A celebration of Renee's life will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, July 6, at Tyler Mountain Funeral Home with Pastor Seth Polk officiating. The family will receive friends one hour before the service.
