  [S927] Obituary. Harold Ray Brandenburg, 88, of Huron, died Saturday, March 5, 2011, at SunQuest Healthcare Center in Huron. His funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Our Savior?s Lutheran Church in Wessington Springs with burial at Restlawn Memory Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Welter Funeral Home in Huron with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m. and a prayer service at 7 p.m.; or one hour prior to service at church. Harold Ray Brandenburg was born Oct. 31, 1922, to Julius and Bertha (Schmidt) Brandenburg at Alpena. He graduated from Alpena High School in 1941. He was a member of Our Savior?s Lutheran in Wessington Springs and served on the church council. On Jan. 27, 1950, he married Edna Marie Teveldal. They farmed near Alpena, later purchasing a farm in Jerauld County. In 1995 they retired from farming and moved to Huron. He is survived by his wife, Edna, of Huron; seven children, Cheryle (Tim) Kludt of Lakeville, Minn., Karen (Mark) Scherschligt of Gilbert, Ariz., Nancy (Joel) Bialas of Marion, Renold (Michelle) Brandenburg of Alpena, DelRoy (Karen) Brandenburg of Huron, Dennis (Teresa) Brandenburg of Pierre, and Patricia (Allan) Hall of Brandon; 18 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; eight siblings and their spouses, Dorothy (Helmuth) Neuharth, Alma Thomas, Marion (Vern) Pratt, Minna (Elmer) Lundborg, Lena (Al) Kringen, Bill (Ardella) Brandenburg, Otto (Rose) Brandenburg, and Elizabeth (Richard) Neuharth; and two grandchildren.
