Charles R. Ludwig
NEW WATERFORD - Charles R. Ludwig, 81, of 3253 Creek Road No. 128, died at 2:22 a.m. Wednesday at Salem Community Hospital.
Mr. Ludwig was born April 8, 1923 in East Liverpool, a son of Daniel R. and Delcie J. Rhodes Ludwig and had lived in New Waterford 15 years, coming from East Palestine. He served in the U.S. Navy during WW II. He was employed as a steelworker at Babcock and Wilcox in Beaver Falls, Pa., for 23 years, retiring in 1983.
He is survived by his wife, the former Elywena B. Russell, whom he married Oct. 23, 1942; a daughter, Mrs. Dan (Linda) Benedict of Chesapeake, Va.; two sons, Gary R. (Linda) Ludwig and William C. (Carolyn) Ludwig, both of East Palestine; a brother, Emerson Ludwig of St. James City, Fla.; seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
A brother, Robert Ludwig is deceased.
Funeral services will be held at 8 p.m. Friday at the Van Dyke-Swaney Funeral Home, East Palestine, with Mr. Robert Helbeck, minister, officiating. Burial will be in Glenview Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 6-8 p.m. on Friday.
