"Wegman, Jules G., Jr."Date published: 1/22/2006"Jules ""Jay"" G. Wegman, Jr., 89, passed away on Monday, January 16, 2006. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jules G. Wegman, Sr. and Olivette Jones Wegman; his wife, Ethel (Renfrew); his son, Paul and his sister, Marcella. He is survived by daughter, Jean M. (Bruce) Totten, Albuquerque, NM; and son, David A. Wegman, Orlando, Florida as well as two granddaughters, Shelly L. Kadas (Mike), Albuquerque, NM and Julie A. Tholstrup (Bill), Sacramento, CA. He was ""Bumpa"" to his two great-granddaughters, Rebecca L. Borrowman and Mikayla C. Kadas, Albuquerque, NM. Jay also leaves other loving family members as well as friends scattered throughout the US. Jay was born on July 18, 1916 in Rochester, New York. After his retirement from Bastian Brothers as a tool and die maker, he and his wife Ethel moved to Titusville, Florida, and in 2002, he relocated to Albuquerque. Jay was a lover of Hershey's chocolate, a crossword puzzle enthusiast, a television fanatic and one of the world's best procrastinators. A devoted Catholic and family man, he also served his country in the army. He loved traveling, science, nature and fishing and held a special fondness for Bob's Lake in Canada. The last 1 1/2 years of his life were spent at Care Free Living in Albuquerque where he participated in Bingo and Scrabble games and enjoyed kibitzing with his fellow residents. He loved the staff and appreciated all that they did for him. The family wishes to thank the capable, compassionate and gentle people at Care Free for their loving care of Jay. In accordance with his wishes, Jay's remains will be cremated, and there will be no formal services. In the spring, Jay's remains will be scattered over the Atlantic Ocean at the same latitude and longitude where his beloved Ethel's ashes were scattered 17 years ago."
