Frederick, MD ?The News? issue of Wednesday, 8 January 1958, p. 5, col. 2Mrs. Lucy McCurdy Died Here TuesdayMrs. Lucy Eisenhauer McCurdy, 3 West Church street, widow of Dr. Ira J. McCurdy, died at Frederick Memorial Hospital Tuesday afternoon at 1:45 o'clock after a long illness.Mrs. McCurdy, a life-long resident of Frederick, was born here, a daughter of the late John and Margaret Whenner Eisenhauer. She was a member of St. John's Catholic Church and the Sodality of the Blessed Virgin. She was a graduate of the Visitation Academy, Hood College and the Nursing School of Church Home and Hospital in Baltimore.Mrs. McCurdy is survived by a sister, Mrs. Charles Byerly, Frederick; these nieces and nephews, John F. Byerly, Washington; Miss Margaret L. Fout, Hampstead; Charles Byerly Jr., Frederick and Mrs. F. Henry Wegner, Hampstead. Three great nieces, one great nephew and one great great nephew also survive. Her husband, Dr. McCurdy, died in 1942.The body is at the funeral home, 8 East Patrick street. Funeral services will be held Friday morning with prayers at 9:30 o'clock at the funeral home followed by a Low Requiem Mass at 10 o'clock at St. John's church. Thursday night at eight o'clock the Rosary will be recited by the Sodality of The Blessed Virgin Mary. Interment will be in Mt. Olivet cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be sent to Lewis Greenberg, Box 286, chairman of Frederick County Arthritic Fund Drive. C.E. A low requiem mass was celebrated at 10 o?clock in St. John?s Catholic church.Rev. Herbert R. Jordan, assistant pastor, was the celebrant.Casket bearers were furnished by the funeral home. Interment was in Mount Olivet cemetery. C.E. Cline and Son, funeral directors.
