"Cal" Schaub TRAVERSE CITY Calvin C. "Cal" Schaub, 67, retired owner of a refrigeration company, died peacefully Friday, Sept. 11, 2009, at Bortz Health Care. Born Aug. 5, 1942, in Detroit, he was the son of the late Carl and Norma (Sheffer) Schaub. A proud veteran, Cal served with the United States Navy prior to his honorable discharge. Cal will be fondly remembered for his gentle spirit, easy to get along with attitude and for his kindness to others. His is survived by his children: daughter, Angela (Jerry) Liguia of Traverse City; son, Gregory (Linda) Schaub of Traverse City; two grandchildren, Joel and Emily; siblings, G.E. (Hank) Schaub of Anchorage, Alaska, Aaron Schaub of Cedar, Sheila (Ozzie) Osburn of Cedar and Darwin Schaub of Traverse City; several nieces , nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his sister, Sonja Boch Per his wishes, no services are planned. In remembrance of Cal, memorials may be directed to the charity of one's choice.
