Lorraine A. Lumley, 82, died at 12:25 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 21, 2005, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis.
She was born June 9, 1923, in Hardin to William and Margaret (Hazelwonder) Klunk.
She married Alva Lumley on Sept. 23, 1940, in St. Louis, and they enjoyed almost 65 years of marriage together.
A charter member of St. Matthew?s Catholic Church, she was formerly a self-employed beautician. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and her great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Jerry and Sharon Lumley of Joliet, Ill.; one daughter and son-in-law, Georgia and James Van Winkle-Cooper of Godfrey; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two brothers, William Klunk of Moro and Robert Klunk of Carrollton; and one sister, Betty Hubbard of Camdenton, Mo.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters.
Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until a Mass of Christian Burial at 2 p.m. Saturday at St. Matthew?s Catholic Church in Alton. Father David Schmidt will be the celebrant.
Burial will follow at St. Michael Cemetery in Michael, Ill.
Memorials are suggested to the American Lung Association.
Elias-Smith Funeral Homes and Crematory in Alton is in charge of arrangements.
