Chris Rueb, 90, of Lodi, passed away in Lodi on December 14, 2010. Chris was born in Wishek, North Dakota to Henry and Phillipina Rueb, on March 19, 1920. Chris worked at Kaiser Steel Corporation for 30 years. He was a member and Deacon of Vinewood Community Church, and served in the Army in World War II. In his retirement, he enjoyed woodworking, gardening, traveling in his motor home and spending time with family. Chris grew up on the family farm in North Dakota and continued to enjoy visiting family there as long as he was able. In his time at Kaiser Steel, he was a valued employee, always held in high regard and with respect. Chris was a dedicated member of each church family he became a part of; always serving in leadership capacities. He was a faithful, kind, gentle husband, father and grandfather who will be greatly missed, always remembered and loved. Mr. Rueb is survived by his wife Cecelia (Cindy) Rueb, Lodi, CA, his daughters Lois Green (Bud)of Carlsbad, CA, Karen Walker (Ron) of Gig Harbor, WA, Cindy Griffith of Rancho Cucamonga, CA and Krista Eigenhuis (Doug) of Stockton, CA; adopted son, Marshall Dillon and his step-children David Haley (Nancy) of Redwood City, CA and Tyleen Baca(Jim) of Nevada. His 11 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren will miss him greatly. He is preceded in death by wives Katherine A. Rueb and Edna H. Rueb; sisters Erna Peltz and Martha Huber-Bauman and brothers Aaron Rueb and George Rueb.
A graveside service will be held on December 22, 2010 at Mountain View Cemetery, San Bernardino, CA.
There is no visitation. Memorial and Celebration of Life Services on Saturday, January 15, 2011 at 1 pm at Vinewood Community Church, 1900 West Vine St, Lodi, CA. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to World Vision (http://donate.worldvision.org) or Vinewood Community Church. A virtual register book may be signed at www.lodifuneralhome.com where memories can be shared. Lodi Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements.
