ASHLEY -- Alma Ehley, 76, Ashley, died Nov. 17, 2004, at a Bismarck medical center. Services will be held at 11 a.m. today, Nov. 20, at Zion Lutheran Church, Ashley, with the Rev. Jeff Giles officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the church. Casketbearers will be Dean Glaesman, Steve Glaesman, Charles Glaesman, Rueben Glaesman, Bonnie Tranby, Lynnetta Schilling and Tyler Meidinger. The organist will be Karen Himmerich and special music will be performed by The Ashley Men's Quartet. Alma Glaesman, daughter of Gottlieb and Rosina (Hoff) Glaesman was born Sept. 13, 1928, on the family homestead south of Ashley. This is where she grew up and attended country school. She helped on the family farm. She was united in marriage to Alvin Ehley Oct. 24, 1948, at Zion Lutheran Church at Ashley. They made their home on a farm east of Ashley, and in 1967, they moved into Ashley. She worked at the Ashley Medical Center as a cook and a housekeeper for about eight years. She then became employed at Blumhardt Manufacturing where she worked in production and maintenance for about 15 years. She and her husband retired from farming in 1987, and she retired from Blumhardt Manufacturing in 1990. She continued to keep busy helping others and babysitting her grandchildren. Alma enjoyed crocheting, quilting and helping others. Her grandchildren were the highlight of her days and she would spend as much time possible with all of them. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church at Ashley. Survivors include her husband; one son, Glenn (Lynnae) Ehley, Merritt Island, Fla.; one daughter, Lucy (Rodney) Meidinger, Ashley; four brothers, Emil (Darlene) Glaesman, Ashley, Ervin (Lucille) Glaesman, Lehr, Arvin (Sylvia) Glaesman, Leola, and her twin brother, Alvin Glaesman, Gettysburg, S.D.; and four grandchildren, Tyler Meidinger, Tanner Meidinger, Desirae Ehley and Tucker Meidinger.
