HENRY KOERNER

Henry Koerner, twin brother of John Koerner, was born to Andreas and Emilia
(Herman) Koerner, on November 11, 1896.
On December 14, 1919, Henry Koerner and Lydia Ladner, daughter of Henry and
Rosina (Klein) Ladner, were united in marriage. Four children were born to the
couple, one daughter, Angie, died in infancy; three sons, Sanrow and Andrew are
living in Eureka, and Marvin is living in Williston, North Dakota.
Mr. and Mrs. Koerner farmed and reared their family on the original Andreas
Koerner homestead, located approximately 15 miles northeast of Eureka. They
were members of the Reformed Church throughout their lives.
In 1952, the farm was sold to their son, Andrew, and they moved to Eureka.
Shortly thereafter Mr. Koerner was employed by the Eureka Distributing Co., a
beverage wholesale business, owned and operated by their son, Sanrow Koerner,
at the time.
On March 3, 1963, Henry Koerner died, Mrs. Koerner continued to reside in
Eureka.
On December 16, 1964, Lydia Koerner married Emmanual Rath, father of Nilda
(Rath) Fischer, Roscoe, South Dakota, Bernice (Rath) Kusler, Pierre, South
Dakota and Vera (Rath) Anderson, deceased. Mr. Rath died July 26, 1970.
On August 14, 1971, Mrs. Lydia Rath married Edward Golz, father of one adopted
son, Alvin Golz, deceased. Mr. Edward Golz died June 19, 1974.
Currently Mrs. Lydia Golz lives and takes care of her own home in Eureka, South
Dakota.
