CHRIST J. AND MARY WOLFF Mr. and Mrs. Christ J. Wolff, Ella, Alma, and Edwin. Christ J. was born January 16, 1891 in McPherson County east of Eureka and died April 3, 1963. He had eight brothers and two sisters, one brother died in infancy. He was the son of Christ G. and Katherine (Gutjar) Wolff, who were born in Bergdorf, South Russia and came to McPherson County, October, 1889, with two small children. Christ married Mary Hoff on February 24, 1914. She was the daughter of Michael and Katharine (Gohl) Hoff Sr., who were both born in Kassel, South Russia. Mary was born September 27, 1895 and died June 11, 1966. After their marriage, Christ and Mary lived in Perkins County, Haynes, North Dakota for some years where they farmed. They returned to McPherson County in 1926 where they bought plain, prairie land. They had to break up all of the land, fence it and build a farm on it, nine miles southeast of Eureka. They did all of the carpenter work on the buildings themselves. They were members of Zion Lutheran Church of Eureka. They had three children and ten grandchildren. Ella is married to Lenhart Neifer and lives in Hosmer. Alma married Fred Schaeffer and lives in Eureka. Edwin is married to Alice Trautman and also lives in Eureka. CLIFFORD AND VIOLET WOLFF Clifford and Violet Wolff live eight miles north and one mile east of Eureka and have farmed there since October 1947. They are members of the United Church of Christ at Eureka where both are serving on the church board. Violet is also a member of the Women's Fellowship and the Eureka
