Paul B. Smyser, 65, who worked for 41 years in the Special Delivery Department of the Louisville Post Office, died Sunday after suffering a heart attack at his home, 1634 Nightingale Road. Deputy Coroner Barry Foreman said Smyser was pronounced dead at 11 p.m. at St. Joseph Infirmary. When Smyser retired in 1963, he was known as the last of the Louisville Post Office "bicycle boys." When he began his career in 1922 he rode a bicycle to deliver specials around Louisville. In his 41 years of service, Smyser estimated he had delivered half a million letters and packages. In 1937, he delivered his route by boat while most of Louisville was flooded. Survivors include his wife, the former Eula Hujo; two daughters, Mrs. William A. Schell, of Donnellson, Tenn., and Mrs. Carl Anderson; a stepson, Ronald L. Keeling; three grandchildren and a great-grandchild. The funeral will be at 2 p.m. tomorrow at the Embry-Bosse Funeral Home, 2723 Preston Highway, with burial in Resthaven Memorial Park.

Funeral services Wed. at 2 p.m. at the Embry-Bosse Funeral Home, 2723 Preston Hgwy. Interment, Resthaven Memorial Park.
