Webster Bruce Fiock was born to Carl and Catherine Fiock on the ?old homestead? northwest of Montague on November 4, 1916. He joined older brothers Carl and Lloyd, shortly followed by Mary Martha (Simmons); Catherine (Kay Schmidt); Charles (Chuck) of Ashland, Ore; Faith (Pruett) of Jessup, MD; Thelma (Davis) of Reedsport, Ore; and foster brother Jim Ellis of Los Molinos, Calif.. In addition to his parents, Carl, Lloyd, Kay and Mary preceded him.

Webster Bruce Fiock was born to Carl and Catherine Fiock on the ?old homestead? northwest of Montague on November 4, 1916. He joined older brothers Carl and Lloyd, shortly followed by Mary Martha (Simmons); Catherine (Kay Schmidt); Charles (Chuck) of Ashland, Ore; Faith (Pruett) of Jessup, MD; Thelma (Davis) of Reedsport, Ore; and foster brother Jim Ellis of Los Molinos, Calif.. In addition to his parents, Carl, Lloyd, Kay and Mary preceded him.He attended the Shasta River School and graduated from Siskiyou Union High School.At an early age, he drove an 8-12 horse team on the ranch that prepared him for a local contract harvesting business with his father in the early 1930s. In the latter part of the 1930s, he moved to McCloud to be a community fireman and night watch/maintenance man for the McCloud Lumber Company.In 1940, he married Olevia May Pruett, the second daughter of Roy and Merle Inze (Purinton) Pruett. After several moves they settled on the western portion of the Pruett Ranch in the early 1950s with their three children, Shari Fiock of Yreka; Mike and Debbie Fiock of Elmira, Ore.; and Kathy and Gaston Gray of Eugene, Ore. They brought him great pleasure and many blessings: 13 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Grandson Sterling grew up on the family ranch. Olevia passed away in 1981.?Webb? was a truck and tractor mechanic for more than 30 years with International Harvester that changed names from Floyd A. Boyd and Company to Boyd and Franson, then morphed to Yreka Truck and Equipment, from which he retired in 1981. He worked with Shari and Associates co-building a number of exhibits and dioramas for the Klamath National Forest's Interpretive Museum and on other projects.He loved America and traveled its back roads to meet local people. He made numerous trips to Maryland to work on his grandfather?s beloved ?Puddle Jumper,? a 1934 Chevrolet Coupe. He was a 70+ year member of the Greenhorn Grange and remained an active member of the Classic Historic Vehicle Association-Siskiyou Region. Other interests included old iron ... especially steam and historical farm equipment and his beloved dog, Oso.Webster?s determination was admired by many. In spite of a stroke in 1999 which took away the use of his right side, he still wrote his autobiography, Old Man Memories.Webster passed away on September 6, 2008 following a short stay at Madrone Hospice.You?re encouraged to join family and friends to celebrate his life at the family plot at Evergreen Cemetery on Saturday, September 13, 2008 at 11 a.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Madrone Hospice, 255 Collier Circle, Yreka, CA 96097, or to your favorite organization. Girdner Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
