Obituary for Warren Wayne Bender
Virginia and Ervin Bender were blessed with Warren Wayne Bender on 7-25-1948 brother to Terry (Shirley) Bender, Don (Illa) Bender, Karen (Jim) Sjomeling, Dale (Karin) Bender, and David (Tara) Bender.
Warren served in Vietnam proudly and returned home to Aberdeen, South Dakota where he quickly drove his new Camaro to Colorado to meet the loves of his life. Emily Champion whom he later married and Tina and Tobi his daughters. He and Emily had Tracy shortly thereafter. Life for Warren was complete. He was happy. Throughout the years the family grew with Warren's real loves his grandchildren. Cyle and Warren Hirschfeld, Dominic and Grace Basile and Sydney Brooke Abel. Stacy and Jason Maunu. Tanya Svyndsen. Jason Ervin Lee and Jen Bender. Jeffrey Bender. Tammy and Michael Keffler. Kathy Jo Sjomeling. Jamie and Heidi Bender. Jennifer and Tim Dowse. Jodi Bender. Zachary and Joey Bender and many great nieces and nephews.
He worked hard and long for his family at the BNSF Railroad for 34 years. He later worked with Tracy Murrell his good friend before getting ill and suffering many strokes in 2012.
His life has been changed for a long time. He was no longer married or had his daughter's in his life other than Tracy and granddaughter Sydney. He was still very happy. He struggled without being able to speak or use his right hand. If you knew Warren you knew he always found the positive side of everything.
He also truly appreciated his son in law's John Hirshfeld, Tony Basile and Sean Abel who tragically took his own life in October of 2015.
Warren's life ended peacefully, Tracy unable to reach him found him in bed. We can hope he had just laid down and went to sleep. Then on to Heaven where God called him home.
The things he could still do one handed were remarkable. The love he had for others. The kindness he had and gave. He's the strongest man with most tender heart I've ever had the pleasure of knowing and he just happened to be my dad. I was truly blessed with him.
