FOSTORIA: Ursula Loyola Zoeller, 92, of Fostoria, passed away at her residence Friday, April 1, 2011.
She was born October 21, 1918, the Feast Day of Ursula, in Ballville Township, Sandusky County, on the John H. Meyer farm, to the late Sylvester Joseph and Helen Mary (Haubert) Meyer.
She married her loving husband of 65 years, Alvin Joseph Zoeller, November 17, 1945 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Fremont, and he survives her in Fostoria; also surviving are her children, Kathleen Follett, Fostoria, Alan (Diane) Zoeller, Columbus, Ronald (Ann) Zoeller, Kansas, Sharon Zoeller, Fostoria, and Anita Carter, Fostoria; nine grandchildren, Steven and Dustin (Jill) Follett, Kelly (Matt) Strausbaugh, Kim (Steve) Johnson, Kristen (Aaron) Bomer, Katie ( Terrance) Ward, Ron (Gaudis) Carter, Tonia Ramirez, and Candice (Jesus) Vazquez; 18 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Norma Jane (Merl) Hetrick, Marcella (Darl) Noftz, and Arlene Hoffman; and sisters-in-law, Helen Meyer, Rita Meyer-Eppler, and Rita Ford, and brother-in-law, Dale Blodgett.
She was also preceded in death by a sister, Dorothy (and brother-in-law, Shelman) Carnicom; brothers, Wilbur and Clarence Meyer; sister-in-law, Bernadine Blodgett; and brother-in-law, Carl Hoffman.
Ursula was a member of St. Wendelin Catholic Church, Fostoria. She graduated from St. Joseph High School in Fremont and attended Our Lady of the Pines for art classes. An accomplished and local artist/oil painter, she is known to have completed at least 200 paintings, one of which is displayed in the St. Wendelin Parish office. She also had worked at photography studios in Fremont, Fostoria, and Findlay as a "tinter". Ursula was a seamstress, enjoyed flower gardening, and was a member of various bridge clubs throughout her life.
Visitation will be held from 1-3 and 5-7 p.m. on Tuesday, April 5 2011 at MANN-HARE-HOENING Funeral Home, 407 N. Countyline St., Fostoria, where a wake service will begin at 2:45 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place 10:30 a.m., Wednesday April 6, 2011 at St. Wendelin Catholic Church, Fostoria where a Rosary will be prayed at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at St. Wendelin Parish Cemetery, Fostoria.
