Hines, 53, of 328 North street, Barnesville, died at 3:15 a.m. Sunday at his home, following an illness of several months. He had been employed as a truck driver for the M & K Grocery Company here for several years. Mr. Hines was a member of the First Methodist Church here and was a former football player for the local high school. Born in Barnesville on August 3, 1905, he was a son of George and Elizabeth Hines. He leaves his wife, Gertrude Bishop Hines of the home; his mother, Mrs. Elizabeth Hines of Wiley avenue; two sons, David of the home and Lt. Junior [sic, means Lieutenant Junior Grade] Dean Hines of the U.S. Navy; a sister, Miss Jeanne Hines, a teacher in the Canton schools; two brothers, James and Lester both of Barnesville.
