I want to offer another update for the tree. My father, Steven Willard
Franks (I400134), passed on 27 Nov 2017 in Seward, Nebraska, USA. He was
born 26 July 1943 in Highmore, South Dakota, USA. This is the link to his
obituary. There is a lot of information that can show you a little more
about what made my dad special. I also attached a picture of him at age 19
or 20 (my mother can't recall and it is not on the original photo). The
photo was taken between August 1962 and September 1966.

Life Legacy
Steven Willard Franks was born on July 26, 1943, to Bryan Willard Franks and Agnes Alice Goehring in Highmore, South Dakota and passed away on November 27, 2017, in Seward at the age of 74 years, 4 months and 1 day.
Steve grew up in Blunt, SD with his mother and stepfather and attended school in Blunt where he graduated with the Class of 1962. He enlisted into the United States Navy on August 16, 1962. He served on the USS Enterprise and USS Ranger during the Vietnam War. On September 15, 1966, he was honorably discharged. Steve was united in marriage to Carolyn Jane Champlin on April 18, 1964, in Ventura, CA. To this union, four children were born, Ken, Julie, Serena and Stephanie.
Steve began working as a mail carrier in 1967 in Ventura. In 1977, the family moved to Victorville, CA and stayed until 1986 when they moved to Council Bluffs, IA where he continued his postal career. In 1992, after 25 years, Steve retired from the Postal Service. In 1993, the couple moved to Lincoln, where they both worked at Molex Inc., until his retirement from there in 2010 after 15 years. Steve was a life member of the American Legion Post #339 in Ventura, CA and the American Legion in Portsmouth, IA. He was also a member of the Masonic Lodge #214 A.F.A.M. in Ventura, CA. He enjoyed bowling and was on numerous bowling leagues in California and the Omaha area as well. His family was the most important thing in his life. He put his family above all else. He truly was the best husband, father, and grandfather anyone could ask for.
He is survived by his wife, Carolyn, Seward; son, Ken Franks, Seward; daughter, Julie Gregg and husband Robert, Omaha; daughter: Serena Franks, Hastings; Stephanie Twomey, Nashville, TN, and grandchildren, Jerrod Chekal, Hastings, Stacey Millsap and husband Ryan, La Vista, and Marley Gregg, Omaha.
