(Guiler) Larick, 89, of Willoughby, will be 9:30 a.m. Saturday at Davis Funeral Home, 4154 Clark Ave., Willoughby. Mrs. Larick died Aug. 9, 2006, at Fairmount Health Center in Willoughby. Born Dec. 2, 1916, in Kent, she lived in Eastlake before moving to Willoughby more than 38 years ago. She was a graduate of Kent State University. While a student at Kent State, she completed her student teaching in Paris, France. She was a member of Willoughby United Methodist Church. She was also a member of Order of the Eastern Star Willoughby Chapter 202 and a former member of Galilee White Shrine Strauss Memorial Court 41 in Willoughby. She enjoyed painting and traveling. Mrs. Larick was employed by the Willoughby-Eastlake School System as a librarian at Eastlake Junior High School. After earning her teacher's certificate, she was a teacher for 11 years, retiring in 1982. Survivors are her daughter, Barbara MacCartney of Mentor; son, Donald A. (Danice) Larick Jr. of Avon, Conn.; grandchildren, Tom (fiancee, Carin Hill), Chris (Tiffanie) and Mike (Christina) MacCartney and Dara (Thomas) Washburn and Kent Larick; great-grandchildren, Megan, Michael, William, Austin, Cassandra and Brian; and sister, Elizabeth Klucher of Melbourne, Fla. Her husband, Donald A. Larick Sr., died in 1995. Her parents, Glen and Lois Guiler, are also deceased. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. An Eastern Star service will be held at 7:30 p.m. today by Willoughby Chapter 202. The Rev. Harley W. Wheeler of Thompson United Methodist Church will officiate at the service on Saturday.
