He was the retired owner of Robert Steitler?s Dirt and Dozier Work and a member of Highland Park Baptist Church. Robert was a veteran of the United States Army, C Company, 24th Engineer Battalion 4th Armored Division. He was preceded in death by his wife of fifty-four years, Melba Steitler. Papa was a loving and kind man who would give you the shirt off his back. He was a humble man who loved his family very much, always thinking of others before thinking of himself. He is survived by two daughters and one son-in-law, Delma and Bubba Green of Texarkana, Arkansas, Sandy Steitler of Texarkana, Texas, one sister, Jane Lumley of New Mexico, four grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren, and a host of friends and other relatives. Funeral Services will be 10:00 A. M. Friday at Texarkana Funeral Home, Arkansas with Rev. Kevin Myers and Rev. Donnie Edwards officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
