Gomory, Robert Brenden July 15, 1929 - April 25, 2011 Bob was the sixth of seven children born to Joseph and Louise (Zech) Gomory in Pittsburgh, PA. He graduated from Rochester (PA) High School in 1947. He worked Jones & Laughlin Steel in Aliquippa, PA for 33 years before retiring and moving to CA. He was a member of St. Barbara's Catholic Church (Westminster, CA). He was preceded in death by his sisters, Alma Jennings Dale, Westminster, CA and Esther Majors, Beaver, PA; brothers, J. Richard (Linda) and James (Louise), Naples, FL. He is survived by his sister, Elizabeth Vogel, Butler, PA; and brother, Thomas (Christine) of Beaver, PA. A lifelong bachelor, Bob also leaves behind 24 nieces and nephews; his cousin and boyhood friend, Henry Heckroth (Joan); and a good buddy in his later years, Bill Korte. Bob served in the U.S. Army from 1951 to 1953 and spent a year in Pusan, Korea during the Korean Conflict. Bob had a variety of interests during his lifetime, but his most favorite pastime of all was flying. He owned a Cessna 120 and logged 3,000 hours of flight time. The family of Bob wishes to thank Justin, Devine, Roger and all of the employees of the Home at Puesta del Sol for their kindness and gentle care of our loved one over the past several years. A Memorial Service will be held at Santa Clara de Asis Catholic Church, 22005 Avenida De La Paz, Yorba Linda, CA 92887 on Saturday, April 30, 2011 at 10:00 a.m.
