Phillip N. Livengood
Phillip N. Livengood Phillip N. Livengood, 92, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, December 3, 2011. Phil was born on December 28, 1918 in Baroda, MI to Phillip M. and Kate Livengood. Phil was a WW II veteran, serving in the U.S. Army from 1941-1945. He worked at Weston Biscuit (later Interbake Foods) where he met his wife of 63 years, Donna (Robinson). Phil retired from Interbake Foods in 1984 after 45 years of dedicated service. Phil was a founding member of the Wattles Park Men's Club in 1958 and was an active member most of his life. He was an avid supporter of the Harper Creek Beavers football team and was on the chain gang for 25 years. Through the years, Phil and Donna enjoyed camping with friends and walking the Mackinaw Bridge on Labor Day, which they did for 20 years. Up until the time of his death, Phil enjoyed going to football games, gardening, bowling and loved to play cards. Phil is survived by his wife, Donna; two sons, Phillip L. (Naomi) of Battle Creek and Michael D. (Cynthia) of North Wales, PA; three grandsons, Brian (Tracy) Livengood of Battle Creek, Chief Petty Officer, Jason (Amber) Livengood of Richlands, NC, and Cole Livengood of North Wales, PA; and two great-granddaughters. Phil was preceded in death by his parents and sisters, Ester Ziebarth, Katherine Rennhack, Phyllis Bouchard, June Clearwater and Beverly Marko. At the request of the family, they will receive friends on Tuesday, December 6, 2011 from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at the Farley-Estes & Dowdle Funeral Home. Funeral services to celebrate Phil's life will be 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 7, 2011 at the funeral home, officiated by the Rev. Robert G. Muirhead. Interment will follow at Ft. Custer National Cemetery with full military honors. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Harper Creek Athletics or the Wattles Park Men's Club.
