SOURCE: Beacon Journal, Akron OH August 2000 Paul L. Schaub, age 78, of Louisville, loving husband, father and grandfather, passed away Friday, August 18, 2000, at the Joseph T. Nist Nursing Home following an extended illness. Paul was born September 3, 1921, in Canton, and was the son of the late Wesley and Josephine (Pillot) Schaub. He was a former painter at Molly Stark Hospital, retiring in 1984 following 27 years of service. Paul was an Army veteran of World War II, serving in the European Theater where he was held captive as a prison of war. He was a member of North Central Ohio Chapter 8 former POW's, the 80th Division Veteran's Association, V.F.W. Post 7490, American Legion Post 548, and the DAV 50 in Alliance. He was a member of the Public Employee's Retirement Association. Paul was a member of St. Louis Catholic Church in Louisville. Paul leaves behind, his wife of 53 years, Eleanore (Noll) Schaub, whom he married June 21, 1947; daughter and son-in-law, Victoria Lynn and Dan Oyer of Pickerington; sons and daughters-in-law, P. David and Cheryl Schaub of Wadsworth and Ted and Jennie Schaub of Dublin; sisters, Rita Hoover of Louisville, Emma Schaub of Louisville, and Mary Frank of Canton; brothers, John and Tom Schaub, both of Louisville; 11 grandchildren; and special friends, Bonnie Schaub and Debra Sell. He was preceded in death by sisters, Ozelma Stanley, Mildred Stermer, Catherine Schumacher and Velma Schaub; brothers, Joseph, Donald and Theodore Schaub. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, 10 a.m. at St. Louis Catholic Church, with Msgr. Kenneth Miller officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery. Friends may call Monday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Paquelet-Falk Funeral Home in Louisville. Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Louis Church Restoration Fund.
