PAUL LEMMER BILLIG
A funeral mass for Paul Lemmer Billig, who passed away on Friday, March 5, 2010 in Daytona Beach, Florida, will be 10:00 am on Friday, March 12, 2010 at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, 600 S. Nova Road, Ormond Beach. The family will be receiving friends from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm and 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Thursday, March 11, 2010 with a prayer vigil service at 7:00 pm at Volusia Memorial Funeral Home, 548 N. Nova Road, Ormond Beach. The inurnment will be at Volusia Memorial Park, 550 N. Nova Road, Ormond Beach, immediately following the funeral mass.
Mr. Billig was born in Washington, D.C. to the late Dr. Thomas Clifford Billig, Sr. and Melba (nee' Stucky) Billig. He moved to Ormond Beach from New Jersey in 1997. He retired as a Computer Systems Developer with Bell Systems. He was a member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church, Ormond Beach, FL and was a 4th Degree Knight with the Knights of Columbus.
Mr. Billig is the current President of the Police Academy Auxiliary and was the Past President of the Hospital Auxiliary, A.A.R.P. and Telephone Pioneers. Mr.
Billig was preceded in death by his step-mother, Marie (nee'Clancy) Billig and brother, Dr. Frederick Billig.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his loving wife of 52 years, Evelyn; son, Paul C. (Beth) Billig, Little Falls, N.J.; brother, Thomas Clifford (Paige) Billig, Jr., White Bear Lake, MN; three grandchildren, Dr. Kelly (Michal) Billig-Figura, Janelle Billig and Matthew Billig.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Pregnancy Crisis Center, 416 N Ridgewood Ave., Daytona Beach, FL 32114 or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital , 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105. Arrangements are under the care and trust of Volusia Memorial Funeral Home, Ormond Beach.
