STEIMEL DURHAM - Patrick Emil Steimel, 83, died Thursday, September 16, 2004, in Greenville, SC. He was born in Suttons Bay, MI on June 20, 1921, to the late Emil and Rose Schaub Steimel. He proudly served his country while stationed in the U.S. Army during WWII. A graduate of Jackson Junior College in Michigan, Mr. Steimel was an accountant who met his wife while working at Duke University, more than 57 years ago. Mr. Steimel attended Immaculate Conception Catholic Church for many years until he recently moved to Greenville, SC, to be near his family. He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Mary Peace Steimel of Durham; his daughter, Patricia Featherston and husband, George, of Simpsonville, SC; his sister, Rita Colbath and husband, David, of Traverse City, MI; his grandchildren, Brad Putnam and Jennifer Rothel and her husband, Chris; and three great-grandchildren, Chase, Parker and Morgan Rothel. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10 a.m. Monday, from Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with Father David McBriar, O.F.M. presiding. Burial will follow in the Pope Family Cemetery in Creedmoor. Friends may visit one hour before mass on Monday in the church. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, P.O.
