  [S927] Obituary. Otilia H. Urlacher, 94, formerly of the New England area, died Saturday, July 3, 2010 at St. Benedict?s Health Center, Dickinson. Otilia?s Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m., Tuesday, July 6, 2010 at St. Mary?s Catholic Church, New England, with Fr. Patrick Moore, OSB as the celebrant. Interment will follow at St. Helen?s Cemetery, south of New England. Visitation will be on Monday from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m., at Ladbury Funeral Service, Dickinson, with a rosary & vigil at 7 p.m., with Deacon Victor Dvorak presiding. Visitation will continue one hour prior to services at the church on Tuesday. Otilia Hildegard Messer was born June 4, 1916 on the family farm south of Richardton in the St. Stephen?s area, the daughter of Jacob and Celestine (Loran) Messer. She was raised and educated in the St. Stephen?s area. Otilia married Philip P. Urlacher on June 1, 1936 and together they raised seven children on a farm 20 miles southwest of Regent. Philip died on December 28, 1976. Otilia continued to make the farm her home until moving into New England in 1996. In 1999 she became a resident of the St. Benedict?s Health Center in Dickinson. She belonged to the St. Mary?s Altar Society, and the St. Pius Verein. She enjoyed gardening, canning, baking and reading in her spare time. Otilia is survived by her seven children, Marie (Arthur J.) Wolfe, Dickinson, Magdalene ?Maggie? Kathrein, New England, Philip J. (Clem) Urlacher, Reeder, Michael R. (Angie) Urlacher, New England, Ann (Marvin) Wert, New England, Eugenia ?Jean? (Dan) Zastoupil, Dickinson, and Jacob V. (Lynelle) Urlacher, Dickinson; one sister, Sr. James Messer, Bismarck; one sister-in-law, Eugenia Messer, Richardton; 32 grandchildren; 47 great-grandchildren; and four great, great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; son-in-law, Joe Kathrein; four brothers, John, Jake, Mike and Valentine Messer; four sisters, Mary Urlacher, Katherine Reisenauer, Anne Kerzman, and Sr. Celestine Messer; and three brothers and two sisters in infancy.
