OBIT: MOSES A. LYDICK, 86, a former resident of Purchase Line, was killed instantly in an automobile accident, while visiting a son in Troy, Mich. The accident occurred at 7 a.m. Monday, Dec. 13, 1971, in Troy. Mr. Lydick was crossing a street in Troy to purchase a newspaper when he was struck by an auto and killed instantly. Born July 13, 1885, at Purchase Line, he was a son of Arthur and Amanda Fyock Lydick. Married in 1904 to Nellie Smiley Lydick, she preceded him in death in 1956. Mr. Lydick was a member of the Church of the Brethren at Purchase Line and the Dubois Grange. He was a retired machinist from the Osborne Machine Co., DuBois. Surviving are three daughters: Mrs. Effie Fyock, Clymer; Mrs. Pearl Broscius, Reynoldsville; Mrs. Alice Shaffer, DuBois; six sons: Merle, Troy, Mich; Charles, Allison Park; Roy, Utica, Mich.; Alvin, Rochester, Mich., Clair, Niagara Falls, NY., Floyd, Los Angeles, Calif.; two sisters: Mrs. Belle Heberling, DuBois RD 1; Mrs. Edith Delp, DuBois RD 3; a brother, Grover, DuBois RD 1; 22 grandchildren. Friends will be received after 2 p.m. Wednesday at the H. Laird Ober Funeral Home, 521 Main St., Reynoldsville, where services will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Michael T. Hulihan officiating. Interment will be made in the Salem Cemetery, Clearfield County.
