Morris James "Moe" Newton
Morris James "Moe" Newton, 64, of Hillsboro, died Wednesday, March 14, 2012 at his residence.
He was born at Cincinnati, on April 1, 1947, the son of the late Alfred and Verna (Fey) Newton.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one grandchild, Sophia.
Moe retired from the U.S. Army, serving during the Vietnam Era; was a member of the St. Mary Catholic Church, Hillsboro; AMVETS Post 61 Hillsboro; VFW Post 9094 Hillsboro; and F.O.E. Aerie 1161 Hillsboro.
He is survived by one son, Austin Newton, of Hillsboro; two daughters and son-in-law, Davina and Kyle Cooper of West Union, and Jenna Newton of Hillsboro; three brothers and sister-in-laws, Elm and Margaret Newton of Hillsboro, Tom and Denise Newton of Cincinnati, and Tim and Chris Newton of Cincinnati; four sisters and brother-in-laws, Betty Ann Tann of Batavia, Patricia and Ike Boehm of Cincinnati, Marian and Mike Royal of Elmwood Place, and Barb Rapien of Cincinnati; several nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m., Monday, March 19 at the St. Mary Catholic Church with Father Mike Paraniuk officiating. Burial will follow in the St. Mary Cemetery with military graveside rites conducted by the Highland County Honor Guard.
Friends may call on Monday from 9-10 a.m. at the St. Mary Catholic Church.
