Roop, 90, of Auburn, passed away Sunday, September, 16, 2012, at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne. She was born Oct. 29, 1921, in Auburn, to Anthony J. and Rosa (Kopp) Shoudel.Mrs. Roop was a homemaker. She was a member of the Maple Grove United Methodist Church in rural Auburn. She was also a member of the Family Campers and RV'ers. Mary enjoyed fishing, cooking, and baking, but her true passion was her family, especially her grandchildren.She married Joseph F. Roop on March 1, 1940, in Auburn, and he preceded her in death on Sept. 16, 2010.Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, Larry and Vickie Roop of Fort Wayne, and John and Vonda Roop of Fort Wayne; a sister and brother-in-law, Patricia and Roger Cline of Butler; four grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild: AND a special niece and her husband, Vicki and Lee Krueger of California. In addition to her parents and husband; she was also preceded in death by two brothers, Robert Shoudel and Richard Shoudel.Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, September 20, 2012, at Feller and Clark Funeral Home, 875 S. Wayne St., Waterloo. Burial will be in Sedan Cemetery. Visitation is Wednesday from 3 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be directed to Children First Center in Auburn.
