Service 10 a.m. Monday, Bucklin Cemetery. Survivors: brothers, Sylvan Lane, Russell Lane, Lester Lane, all of Bucklin, Elvin Lane of Hutchinson; sisters, Maxine Cecil of Truth or Consequences, N.M., Betty Speer, Lucile Fetcher, both of Bucklin, Dr. Alta L. Harkey of Victoria, Texas. Memorial has been established with Hilltop House Nursing Home. Minnis Mortuary. Mary was a nice old lady; she'd help about anyone. She was a little eccentric, so not many knew what to think about her, but she truly was a genuinely nice person. Mary having been raised in a large family, and having seen the Great Depression, she was always scared that she would run out of money. Mary had mentioned before, that as a child and so many siblings, that there were days that they only got a potato to eat, or a couple slices of bread each per day. Mary spent very little money; buying day-old or clearance foods, and she didn't have eletricity in her home, just lanterns. But it's understandable to think like that if you've seen such harsh times. Mary loved fishing, roasting hotdogs, and visiting with people. She was very kind to my grandparents and would always visit with them. And she loved their dog, Jumper.
