Birth: Nov. 23, 1892 Adams County Iowa, USA Death: Jan. 18, 1948 Lenox Taylor County Iowa, USA Council Bluffs (Iowa) Nonpareil January 20, 1948 Mrs Lula Wurster Lenox - Services were held Tuesday afternoon at the Arnold funeral home here for Mrs Lulu Wurster, 55, who died Sunday at her home north of Lenox. The Rev Charles Colyn conducted rites, with burial in Lenox cemetery. Mrs Wurster had been ill several years. Surviving are her husband, Jack; two sons, Melvin and Albert; a grandaughter; a sister, Mrs Harry Wurster, all of Lenox; and two brothers, Elmer and Charles Schaffer, both of near Prescott. Wurster, Lula Carolyn Schaffer – Lula Carolyn Schaffer, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Schaffer, was born near Prescott, Ia., on Nov. 23, 1893, and died at her home in Lenox, at the age of 55 years, 1 month and 26 days, on Sunday, January 18, 1948. She united with the Presbyterian church in Lenox at an early age. Her entire life was spent near Lenox. She was united in marriage with Jack Wurster on Feb. 14, 1917, and to this union two sons were born, Melvin and Albert, both of Lenox. In 1939 she submitted to an operation which left her an invalid. She bore her pain with a cheerful hope and patience all these years, always thinking of others and looked forward to friendly visits. She leaves to mourn her passing her devoted husband, her sons, Albert and Melvin, the latter’s wife and daughter Sharon; two brothers, Charles and Elmer Schaffer of Prescott, and two sisters, Mrs. Wilfred O’Riley of Hopkins, Missouri, and Mrs. Rose Wurster of Lenox; also a host of friends and relatives. Funeral services were held on Tuesday afternoon in charge of Rev. Charles Colyn. Interment was in Lenox cemetery.
