LaVera E. Gratz
MISSOULA - LaVera Gratz passed away March 22, 2004, at St. Patrick Hospital.
She was born in Missoula on Nov. 13, 1914, to George Mackey and Margaret (Steele) Mackey.
LaVera married Adam Gratz on June 10, 1933, in Missoula. They lived in western Montana, Idaho and Washington. During the Great Depression, three daughters were born to them, Betty, Caryl and Barbara.
She loved to grow flowers, crochet, bowl and fish at Lake Mary Ronan. She lived in Alberton for over 30 years and worked in the post office, served on the school board and worked in the stores there.
LaVera was preceded in death by her parents; husband Adam; and daughters Betty, and Caryl and her husband Frank Petersen.
She is survived by daughter Barbara Seaman and her husband Barry of Choteau; three granddaughters, Lee Ann Petersen, Jean Rockwell and husband Sunny and Francine Nordstrom; grandsons Wendell Petersen, James Long, Bruce Seaman and Brandon Seaman and wife Rachel; and seven great-grandchildren.
The family suggests memorials be made to the Missoula Manor Endowment Fund or to the donor's choice.
No services are planned at this time. Interment will be at Sunset Memorial Cemetery.
Cremation has taken place under the care of Garden City Funeral Home and Crematory.
