Iva Eileen Harner, 91, of Humboldt, KS, passed away Tuesday, November 20, 2012 at Chanute HealthCare after a short illness. She was born on August 21, 1921.
She was the daughter of Edward and Anna (Friederich) Breiner. She married Merle Harner on May 4, 1939 in Chanute, Kansas. He preceded her in death on November 26, 1980.
Iva was a lifelong resident of Humboldt and a retired employee of H.K. Porter in Chanute. She was a seamstress, homemaker, and member of the Farmers' Wives Club.
She is survived by one son, Edward Harner; and four daughters, Darlene Paul and husband Richard, Betty Harral, Carolyn Rowden and husband Paul, and Mary Clevenger; one brother, Orville Breiner and wife Joyce; one sister, Norma Maring; and eleven grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents; two grandchildren; and one son-in-law, Jim Harral.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, November 26, 2012 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Humboldt. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Humboldt.
Rosary will be recited at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, November 26, 2012 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Humboldt.
She will be in-state on Sunday, November 25, 2012 from 1 until 5 p.m. at Penwell-Gabel Humboldt Chapel.
Memorials in her name may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church and left with the funeral home.
Penwell-Gabel Humboldt Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
