He was born December 15, 1924 in Lodi where he attended school and graduated from Lodi Union High School. With his brothers, they sold the ranch in 1965 and moved to Santa Cruz in 1966. He was a lifelong member of Zion Reformed Church and is preceded in death by his parents, Jacob and Paulina Mettler and brothers Leon, Marvin and Albert Mettler. Survived by a brother, Arthur Mettler. Nephew, Curtis Mettler and Niece Kathy Haynie. A memorial service will be held Friday at 3:00pm in the Donahue Funeral Home.
