Hamilton Monroe County Republican, Woodsfield, Ohio, dated, October 30, 1952 Homer L. Hamilton, 76, retired oil field employee, passed away last Thursday morning, October 23rd, at five o?clock at his home on the Lewisville Road following a lengthy illness. Mr. Hamilton was born at Bearsville near Middlebourne, W. Va. he came to Monroe County when a young man, working in the oil fields for many years. Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Marie Christman Hamilton; seven sons, Ray Hamilton of Tulsa, Oklahoma; Eugene Hamilton of Los Angeles, California; Herbert and Arthur Hamilton of Columbus; Willard Hamilton of Mansfield; Edwin Hamilton of Toledo and Gerald Hamilton who has been stationed with the U. S. Army in Germany but arrived home a few days before his father?s death; two daughters; Mrs. Dale (Opal) Schwall of Woodsfield, and Mrs. Ralph (Elsie) Mallet of Marietta, Ohio; several grandchildren; one brother, John Hamilton of Sistersville, W. Va., and two sisters, Misses Cora and Mattie Hamilton of Clarksburg, W.Va. A daughter, Mrs. Hilda Smith preceded him in death on June 1, 1946. Private funeral services at the request of the deceased were held Sunday afternoon at two o?clock at the Bauer and Turner funeral chapel. The Rev. Homer J. Kopke, of the St. Paul?s Evangelical and Reformed Church, officiated. Interment was in Oaklawn cemetery.
