Harold B. Kinney, Sr., 87, of 37373 Kinney Ridge road died at 2:25 a.m. monday, Sept. 24, 1990, at his home after an extended illness.
He was born March 9, 1903 at Antioch to Andrew and Beulah Brown Kinney. he was a member of Graysville Church of Christ at Graysville. He had attended Woodsfield normal School and received his B.A. Degree from Muskingum College at New Concord and His master's Degree from Ohio University at Athens. He was a former insurance agent for Grange mutual Casualty Co. and currently oil field producer in Monroe County.He was a retired school teacher and elementary supervisor in the Switzerland of Ohio School district for 50 years. he was a member of the Graysville Grange, Ohio Retired Teachers Association and Monroe County Retired Teachers Association.
He is survived by his wife, Viola McElfresh Kinney, whom he married May 24, 1927; two daughters, Mrs. Charles ( Blanche) Baker and Zelda Clark, both of Woodsfield; four sons, Harold Jr., Vernon I., Leland E., all of Woodsfield, and Floyd W. of Massillon; one sister, Marie Dougherty of Antioch; four brothers, Joseph W. of Woodsfield and Eugene, Robert and Ronald, all of Antioch; 25 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one son, Forrest L. Kinney; one brother, George W. Kinney; and seven grandchildren.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday in Watters Funeral Home at Woodsfield with Evangelist Claude Davis officiating. Burial will be in Graysville Church of Christ Cemetery at Graysville. Friends will be received at the funeral home from 7 to 9 tonight and 2 to 9 p.m. Wednesday.
