My mother Bernice Stephan Batten was the only child of Eva Weis. She was born in 1926 and is still living. I was born in 1954 and my younger brother Gregg was born in 1956 but passed on in 2014. Bernice Stephan Batten married Noel O Batten in 1948. He was born in 1924 and passed on in 2012. There are two great grandchildren of Eva Weis as well. Let me know what other details you would like. Gary Batten Gary Batten [S927] Obituary. Gregg Alan Batten, 58, of Wilmington, died 6:52 p.m., Wednesday, May 14, 2014. His wife, Teri Trivett Batten, survives. They were married Oct. 15, 1988. Mr. Batten was born Feb. 5, 1956 in Dayton, a son of Bernice L. Stephan Batten of Wilmington and the late Noel O. Batten. He was a 1974 graduate of Wilmington High School. Mr. Batten helped his father at the family business, Batten's Auto Electric. He also worked at Sherwin Williams as the spray works repairman, repairing commercial airless spray equipment. He was a lifelong member of the Church of Christ. In addition to his wife and mother, Mr. Batten is survived by a son, Eric J. (Jessie) Batten of Dayton; a daughter, Ashley E. Batten of Wilmington; a brother, Gary P. (Marjorie) Batten of Lebanon; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, John and Sharon Trivett of Wilmington; and a special friend, Dana Spurgeon of Wilmington. In addition to his father, his grandmother, Eva Stephan, is preceded in death. Funeral services will be 2 p.m., Monday, May 19, at the Reynolds-Smith Funeral Home, 327 N. South St., Wilmington. Burial will be in Sugar Grove Cemetery. Friends may call from 6-8 p.m., Sunday, May 18, at the funeral Home.
