Tyszka, Gilda A.
Gilda Ann (Cornett) Tyszka, 89, died Sunday, Oct. 8, 2006. Widow of the late Edward W. Tyszka, of Baldwin Township; beloved mother of Maryellen Fallon, of Miami, Fla.; devoted grandmother of Lee J. (Josipa) Fallon; dear great-grandmother of Cole, Claire and Clay Fallon, of Ohio; dear stepmother of Ronald and Robert Zingaro, of Florida; loving sister of Virginia Suess and Mary Lou Carr; also survived by many nieces and nephews. Gilda was born in the Spring Hill section of Pittsburgh, the fourth of eleven children to the late F. Theodore and Stella (Bentz) Cornett. She attended St. Ambrose Grade School before graduating from Irwin Vocational Academy as a beautician in 1934. She worked out of the family home at 952 Iten St. before advancing to the neighborhood beauty shops. During her early years, her musical talent and beauty won her a spot on the Wilken's Amateur Hour and patrons in the local night clubs always enjoyed her romantic singing style. Her marriage and career led her to homes in Monesson, Coral Gables, Fla., and the South Side area, where she acquired a devoted following of customers and friends at her own "Gilda's Salon of Beauty". In 1977, she retired and enjoyed her beautiful home and garden in Baldwin Township with her husband, Edward, the former owner of Edward's Cleaners on Carson Street. She was preceded in death by sisters, Dolores Winghart, Dorothy Ann Jastrzebski and Betty Jane Cornett; and by brothers, Ray, Ralph, Frank, Joe and Ed Cornett. Family to receive friends 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday at the HUGHES FUNERAL HOME INC., 1501 Lowrie St., Troy Hill. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday in Most Holy Name Church, Troy Hill, with the Rev. David Schorr as celebrant. Interment in St. Paul's Cemetery, Mt. Troy Road.

Troy Road, the Archdiocese of Pittsburgh told me its at 2103 Highland Ave, which intersects Mount Troy Road and that's where this cemetery is located. One could actually stand in the City of Pittsburgh and 'spit into this cemetery' (I wouldn't) but its actually in Reserve Township. I only located the cemetery after contacting the Archdiocese of Pittsburgh, who has verified to me that Gilda & Edward Tyszka were buried there. They weren't able to help me with Joseph Keen.
