DEATH BRINGS TRAGIC END TO WEDDED LIFE
Frederick L. Houck, Who Married Miss Anna Yuckenberg Just A Month Ago Instantly Killed in Clymer Mine.
BURIAL FRIDAY
Just a short month from the date of his marriage to Miss Anna Yuckenberg of this place, Frederick Lawrence Houck, 25 years old November 9 last, met instant death while he was at work in the Russell Coal Company mine at Clymer Tuesday morning at 9:30 o'clock.
The deceased was a coal cutter by trade and just yesterday morning was put on the payroll of the mining company as an extra man to sprag. He had been at work but a few hours and was riding on a trip of cars which picked a switch, the impact crushing him against the roof.
His widow, a daughter of Mrs. Herbert Moreland of East Philadelphia street, was prostrated by the death of her husband and is under the care of a physician. Their marriage occurred on Wednesday November 7.
Mr. Houck was one of the best known men of Clymer the section. He was possessed of a cheerful disposition and by his kindly acts among his neighbors and with his fellow workmen, was held in the highest affection and esteem.
He leaves his widow; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Amos Houck of Clymer; five brothers and three sisters. Funeral services will be conducted in the Houck home on Thursday afternoon at one o'clock. The body will later be brought to Indiana for interment in Greenwood Cemetery.
