  [S927] Obituary. Elza B. McPherson, Sr., 86, of Vienna, WV died Wednesday December 2, 2009 at St. Joseph's Hospital. He was born in Parkersburg, WV a son of the late Herman Stanley and Deena (Gooseman) McPherson. He was a United States Army veteran having served in WW II and retired from Cyanamid. He was a member of Pine Grove Baptist Church and American Legion Post 15. He is survived by his wife Irene (Barnhart) McPherson; four sons Bud McPherson (Judy) of New England Ridge, Danny McPherson (Sheila) of Washington, WV, Jerry McPherson (Becky) of Mineral Wells, and Kevin McPherson of Parkersburg; four daughters Patricia Tremble of Belpre, Joyce Miller (Ken) of Williamstown, Doris McPherson of New England Ridge, and Glenna Seebaugh (Ralph) of New England; two step daughters Nancy Sharkey (Paul) of Glendale, AZ, and Tami Geibel (Steve) of Parkersburg; nine grandchildren Candy, Nick, Duane, Patrick, Sara, Alicia, Adam, Steven, and Bryan; three great grandchildren Devon, Lakyn, and Olivia; and several step grandchildren and great grandchildren. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Ruth McPherson, two brothers Park and Kenneth McPherson, two grandchildren, and two sons-in-law. Services will be Friday 1:00 PM at Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg with Reverend Shawn Hall and Chuck Ferrell officiating. Burial will be at Bethany Cemetery, New England Ridge.
