He was a resident of Franklin. He was born June 5, 1916, in Nashville. His parents were George D. Weddle and Monta Moore. He married Helen Louise Hendricks on Aug. 10, 1942. She survives in Indianapolis. Other survivors include a daughter, Janet K. Hass of Franklin; a son, Dan E. Weddle of Franklin; a sister, Mary Katherine McGinnis of Franklin; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Dallas Weddle. He was a 1935 graduate of Trafalgar High School. He was employed by the Franklin Post Office as a rural postal carrier for 31 years, retiring in 1974. He was also a school bus driver for Franklin Community School Corp. for several years. He was a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Franklin and the Nineveh and Franklin senior centers. He was a charter member and former treasurer of National Association of Federal Employees 1612. He enjoyed playing euchre and watching professional baseball. He was a U.S. Army Air Corps veteran of World War II. The Revs. Glen and Mike Beck will conduct a service at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Vandivier-Parsley Funeral Home in Franklin. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Burial will be at Greenlawn Cemetery in Franklin. Memorial contributions may be made to Grace United Methodist Church, 1300 E. Adams Drive, Franklin, IN 46131 or to Vista Care Hospice, 8325 S. Emerson Ave., Indianapolis, IN 46237.
