Rose, 91, of Hornick died Friday, Nov. 24, 2006, at Maple Heights Nursing Home in Mapleton, Iowa. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at United Methodist Church in Hornick, with Pastor Dennis Tevis officiating. Burial will be in Willow Township Cemetery at Holly Springs, Iowa. Visitation will be after 2 p.m. today at Armstrong Funeral Home in Mapleton. Edith Moreen Rose was born March 31, 1915, at Holly Springs, the daughter of W.B. and Kitty (Young) Burns. She grew up in Holly Springs and graduated from Holly Springs High School in 1932. She married Clyde Albert Rose on March 10, 1935. The couple farmed in the Hornick and Holly Springs area. Clyde died June 13, 1974. Edith was a member of Hornick United Methodist Church. She enjoyed doing needlework and loved her cats. Survivors include a sister, Roberta Edgington of Mapleton; a nephew, Robert Stoner of St. Peters, Mo.; two nieces, Corinne Harrison of Ankeny, Iowa and Robin Braden of Broadview Heights, Ohio. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; and a sister, Kathryn Stoner.
