Donald Neil Memmer (December 27, 1931 - October 28, 2010) U.S. Veteran Donald N. Memmer, 78, of Salem, passed away from Alzheimer?s Disease on Thursday, October 28, 2010. He was born in Wheatland, Wyoming and later served in the US Navy. Professionally, he served the New Orleans, Chicago, and Washington D.C. areas as an attorney. Mr. Memmer was also an avid writer. Preceding him in death were his parents, Franzel and Dorothy Memmer; and a sister, Lavona Engstrom. His surviving family includes his son, Don and Joy Memmer of Hilo, Hawaii; daughters, Ashley and Marvin Lee of Carlsbad, CA, and Kai Memmer and Dee Dee Vest of Fincastle, VA; sister, Shirley von Forrell of Wheatland, Wyoming; grandchildren, Mirage Memmer, Luke Memmer, Lauren Lee, and Kalei Memmer; nieces and nephews, Lorie and Fred Harrison of Rawlins, Wyoming, Connie and Jay Grabow of Rawlings, Wyoming, Claire and Dennis Hitchcock of Laramie, Wyoming, Becky and Brad Sintek of Sandy, OR, Cindy and David Schilreff of Torrington, Wyoming, and Hardy and the late Mary von Forrell of Wheatland, Wyoming; and several cousins. All services commemorating Donald?s life will be private.
