Dennis Jerome Ohm, age 64, of Mattoon, IL, passed away at 10:00 a.m., Friday, April 9, 2010, at his residence. The funeral service in his honor will begin at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 13, 2010 at the Apostolic Center in Mattoon with Reverend Derold Doughty and Reverend Shine Doughty officiating. Interment will be in the Dodge Grove Mausoleum. Visitation will be Monday evening from 5:00 ? 7:00 p.m., also at the church. Mitchell-Jerdan Funeral Home, 1200 Wabash Avenue, Mattoon, IL, is assisting the family with arrangements. Mr. Ohm was born in Mattoon, IL on February 1, 1946, the son of Charles C. and Hazel Wandalee (Sparling) Ohm. He is survived by one brother, Charles Ohm of Mattoon, IL; and six sisters, Mona Bryson of Mattoon, IL, Mavis Flick of Mattoon, IL, Sherry Turner of Mattoon, IL; Peggy Niebrugge and husband Bernie of Keithsville, LA; Roxanne Ohm of Mattoon, IL; and Dollie Farris of Mattoon, IL; seven nephews; six nieces, five great nephews, and seven great nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents, maternal and paternal grandparents, one sister, and one nephew. Mr. Ohm was a lifelong member of the Apostolic Center and had been employed by General Electric for nearly 35 years. He enjoyed going to flea markets, attending auctions, and lawn care at the Apostolic Center; however, he enjoyed spending time with family and friends more than anything else.
