Watson, 95, of Fairview Nursing Plaza, Rockford, IL, formerly of Morrison, IL, died Thursday, November 29, 2007 at the nursing facility. Chester was born April 23, 1912 in Morrison, IL, to Walter W. and Christina (Propheter) Watson. He was educated in the rural Whiteside County Grade Schools and graduated from Morrison High School. He owned and operated the former Phillips 66 Gas Station in the Unionville area of Morrison. Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Judy Wollam, of Morrison, IL; eight grandchildren, Jeff Hill, Patty (Mrs. Gene) Luepkes, Jamie (Deana) Hill, Lyn DeVries, Joe DeHayes, Niki Pederson, Toni (Mrs. Don) Limbrick, Pete DeHayes; twelve great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two daughters, Mary Geil and Christine A. DeHayes; one great grandson, Marvin Franks; one son in law, Ronald Wollam; two brothers, Earl and Paul Watson.
